Saw Palmetto and Testosterone: Potent DHT Blocker

Close ×

In this video I discuss Saw Palmetto and testosterone.

The Best Testosterone Booster

I’ve seen people refer to Saw Palmetto and Testosterone boosting in a positive light. These people recommend you take it and I wholeheartedly disagree.

When reviewing Saw Palmetto and testosterone studies, you’ll see that it does in fact increase T, but it does so by blocking DHT production. Blocking DHT levels completely negates any benefits of boosting Testosterone, which makes these studies false positives.

What many people who speak on the benefits of Saw Palmetto fail to realize is that blocking DHT has many adverse effects, one being low sex drive. I’d encourage you to look at other ways to increase your testosterone naturally that won’t have any negative affects to your health.

    You need some correction.
    1) Saw Palmetto works by competing with the dht receptor site.
    2) Finesteride retards 5 alpha reductase, which converts T to DHT.

Thus theur mechanisms of action are completely different. It is slso why stoppibg saw palmetto renders a complete recovery in any symptoms/sexual side effects but stopping finesteride many times, does not as the 5-alpha reductase enzyme has been denatured.

what if you take a smaller dose of around 60mg or 120mg of saw palmetto instead of 340mg as instructed on the tablets for daily use. Is there a safer dose amount that provides the benefits without the harm?

first of all your story is hard to believe you had low testosterone and then all the sudden now you have high testosterone you come off like you're into natural remedies and then you have your own line of supplements you're just trying to do what everybody else is doing man you're trying to create a story that's probably not true and then design the supplement and trying to sell it and make a buck I don't believe your research on saw palmetto I've taken it in the past and I've had no problems with it so peace out

Completely disagree with this. What he didn't mention is that Saw Palmetto is actually very anti-estrogenic as well. For someone like myself with high estrogen, low testosterone and high DHT (along with an enlarged prostate), this herb is definitely going to be worth a shot. My libido is already in the shitter due to my low test. High DHT does nothing for my libido.

Rubbish! I will be taking Saw Palmetto in high dosage because there are tons of videos backing up the benefits versus this one video trying to debunk it. (So, he can sell you his own supplements). You snake oil salesmen are funny. Lol

I'm 46. I've taken Saw Palmetto daily since I was 20 as a preventative. 25+ years of personal data, I can call bullshit on this false claim. I have zero issues or sexual dysfunction. DHT levels? I'm doing just fine.

My own doctor gave me a recent physical with my best results in 20+ years. She even commented on my daily saw palmetto intake, only to comment on it's preventative usage for prostate cancers. I am the poster-boy for it. If I have an issue after 25+ years of it, then we can call it bullshit. Guess what? My T-levels are above average for my age, so is my overall fitness level and musculature.

I like your videos, but stop stutteringly trying to shit on established science when you simply cannot back up your personal comments from any sort of real research. Quoting random Wiki and PubMed pages isn't doing research. I understand YouTube and that you trying to clickbait hits and views, but seriously stop with this sort of false health news.

Urologists recommend it's use. It's not about generating Testosterone. It's about prostate health. My DHT levels are doing very well, thanks for your concern.

DHT is our FRIEND….Not the enemy. I am still not convinced it is solely responsible for hairloss. It's highest when we are young and most have a full head of hair when DHT is high…Dunno…there is something else going on there

again and again …it´s all about amount …if you take 20 aspirins you will die.I take Saw Palmetto to REDUCE DHT not kill it.It´s for reduction if people are stupid you can be sick from strawberries. The very first thing you realize when you have low level of DHT is hanging dick …that means …you take too much …easy

Saw palmetto has a similar mechanism of action as finasteride: a more potent DHT blocker. According to FDA trials, 2% of men experienced sexual side effects on finasteride such as decrease in libido or ED. However the placebo group experienced sexual sides in 1.3% of cases. Cognitive sides have been reported as well but the prevalence is low for both. Saw palmetto is supposed to be even more mild though. The risk of really bad sides is low but I don't doubt it exists. That said, I wouldn't fuck around with your hormonal profile unless you have a good reason to.

I overdose on Saw Palmetto. So much so I have gone from totally bald to a head of hair that would make Cousin IT off the Adams family jealous. And it has not affected my libido one bit. I have such severe erections and massive T levels that women at work wont sit next to me for fear of being impregnated by the T in my breath alone!

Saw Palmetto – (100% APPROVAL) – This is the only video I have seen with negative comments about the product.  After only two weeks of taking the product (at a low dosage 160mg) I have see huge results.  First I use to go to RR twice a night and run to the RR. Now maybe once a night and sometimes I forget and wait to morning – no problem.  Also hair growth has increased 100% on top of my head.  And no lost in sex drive what so ever. This product gets 100% approval rating from me.  Hope it will help others.
