Dr. Berg discusses potassium and the importance of this electrolyte. Your heart, your fluid, your energy, your nutrients in and out of the cell is dependent on the sodium and potassium pump. However, potassium is the most difficult to get from the diet.

    I believe what you teach is amazing. I do have a question, unfortunately my ex mother in law passed away this pass Dec. She was in acute kidney failure and on dialysis 3 days a week. Her legs were huge with holding fluid and also the rest of her body. She was on fluid restriction, not aloud to eat anything with potassium in it or salt.

    Dialysis started working because her legs went down a lot but she was so weak and would hardly eat anything.
    What I don't understand is why do they not want you having potassium, water or salt when they are essential in your body to live. They say it makes the kidney failure worse. I just don't understand and when she passed I believe it was because of her potassium being so low that her heart just quit working.
    So could you please explain to me why when your in kidney failure that your not aloud foods with potassium in it or salt and on a fluid restriction?

    Everyrhing you said in this video. especially what you might feel like if your deficient in potassium, makes much sence because she was showing all of these systems. So why do the Dr's do what they do?

    How long does it take to increase potassium levels, and how do I increase potassium levels? I went to the ER for body cramps and it ended up being the result of low potassium. I was discharged earlier this morning after taking two potassium pills, but my muscles are still achy. I'm not on any water pills, and as far as I know, I have no other illnesses. So I think this happened due to poor diet, and stress (if it plays a role in this type of thing).

    Thank you so much. I have been on a keto diet for 7 months and have had heavy legs when going up stairs and some tingling occasionally in arms and legs. I have searched and searched to find out why this might be happening. You have said in other videos adrenal fatigue but I didn't think that was it. I think it might be potassium. I eat a good amount of veggies but not as much as you recommend. I think I'm gonna try your wheat grass juice. Thank you.

    just keep decreasing junk food and increasing whole unprocessed food in variety until you feel as good as you want. almost every meal should be some grass fed meat or wild caught fish served with a real vegetable not grain.

    i originally didn't watch your video and then thought you were crazy. I saw your webinar for deficiency symptoms which included stools sticking to the toilet and vitamin a deficiency then I started paying attention. Doc pimps did damage to my liver after labeling me with metabolic syndrome so I am quite tense. Two presentations on the internet were/ are false and were making me ill. I have been using potassium so I didn't feel as endangered and desperate to be able to get up and stay up and have cognizance I increased my potassium based on your video in December 2016. I found a good change in my energy. I was on greens since simmer which increased my energy and helped with breathing. I believe I am getting more through the citrate then greens unfortunately I bought your gallblader formula as a result because of liver pain. I just tried your sciatica and back pain techniques. Thanks

    Many people end up in emergency rooms with suspicion heart attack, after they start keto diet unprofessionally. They missing info about potassium and electrolytes…. Just eat fat and that's it. They want extreme ketosis…

    hi Dr. Berg, everytime I am ketogenic dieting, my hand, fingers, face, and arms twitch very badly as well as arythmias. I am trying to figure out which deficiency I likely have. I am lost.. do you have any idea?

    Potassium in mg dose has a FDA limit on labeling on bottles (capsules/tablets to 99 mg) per dose. If the potassium pill is in a higher dose than 99mg there is some risk of potassium eroding the stomach lining if it stays in contact with it too long. So a pill of concentrated potassium sitting in one spot and dissolving over time can put that part of the stomach at serious health risk. Can you confirm or consult a possible view as this might be another possible misleading market trap. I know people that eat 10 bananas within 12 hours; I eat an avocado and banana or tree bananas that reach 600+ mg of Potassium per sitting. If the FDA limit is real, then where the Hell does someone get 4500mg (that’s 4.5grams) a day. Silly question I know.
